Texas

Dave and his entourage, which includes Mike, GaTa, Elz, Emma, and the tour bus driver Cliff, are on the Texas leg of Lil Dicky's "Looking for Love" tour. One thing he should be happy about but which he's not is the large amount of indiscriminate sex he is getting, as he knows that his sexual partners, all fans, just want to sleep with "LD" and not Dave, they who all can just pass along to their social networks their sexual exploits with a celebrity, one with a sexual appendage physical abnormality at that. All Dave really wants is what the tour name explicitly states: to find love, that someone who will eventually become his wife. He thinks he has found someone who meets at least the most minimum of criterion as that future wife in the form of Campbell, a young woman who knows that he's a celebrity but doesn't know who Lil Dicky is. Meanwhile, Emma, who is shooting a documentary of the tour, struggles between getting engaging footage and what she would consider true documentary.

Filming is underway for Dave's latest music video, and wanting it to be as realistic as possible, Dave is having it done back in Philadelphia at his parents' house as, in an effort to attract a female demographic, the song is about his first love at age thirteen to Brittany Parker who ended up breaking his heart. Despite having a team working on it, including Emma as the director, Dave ends up micromanaging the process in wanting to ensure that his story is told the way he wants, which leads to one logistical problem after another. Things change when the real Brittany Parker shows up only having heard through the grapevine that Dave was back in town and not knowing until her arrival that the filming is of "their" story.

Hearsay

The tour is currently in Atlanta, GaTa's home town where he is able to reconnect with some old friends. With Atlanta being the home base for many of the biggest names in the traditional rap community, Dave ends up getting into online issues with both Killer Mike and Rick Ross, the former's text he doesn't quite understand in its traditional rap-eze. GaTa had also long ago borrowed one of Ross' beats which he hopes to use to further his own rap career. Meeting him at a club, Dave is able to befriend Ross. However, Dave and GaTa subsequently get into a predicament which may threaten Dave's newfound friendship with Ross.

Wisconsin

The tour is in Wisconsin, and someone officially joining the entourage is Ally. In their time on this leg of the tour, both she and Dave go through a roller coaster of emotions regarding their romantic/sexual lives. Dave makes a connection with Robyn, who was hired as the local photographer for a magazine spread. Unlike his other one night stands, he has no illusions that Robyn is interested in sleeping only with LD. But as the connection ends up being deeper than he imagined regardless of his immediate sexual interest in her, he has to figure out if she is worth pursuing beyond the tour being in Wisconsin. As Jim was the one to ask for a break in their relationship in not being prepared emotionally for a commitment, Ally has no illusions about her Wisconsin goal, which is solely a one night stand with Roy Winters, a college classmate who always had an unrequited interest in her, he well aware of it being this one-nighter as the tour is in town. In the process, Ally will discover her limits in the balance between emotion and sex in any relationship she has.

The Storm

The tour is in Mississippi with Dave's entourage now including GaTa's latest "one night stand", Vaka. At his latest concert, Dave asks for a volunteer from the audience to come on stage, he choosing among the cheering fans a young woman named Meg, who considers herself his biggest fan. Because of the body shaming she receives from the audience, Dave, feeling bad for his part in the incident, offers Meg a free future show, such as the next one in Nashville. Without transportation of her own, he further offers for her to travel to Nashville on the tour bus. Before hitting the road, they ask to make a short pit stop at Meg's house to do a few logistical items. That short stop necessarily turns into a much longer one. They end up feeling like they are caught in a mash-up of horror movies as they spend time with Meg and her fundamentalist Christian conservative family.

Dave comes to an epiphany that the tour is not anything he envisioned it to be and thus has made the decision that he wants to cancel the remainder of it for his own mental health. While it affects everyone in the entourage to some degree, the two others besides Dave most affected are Emma as it leaves the state of the documentary in limbo, and Mike, who has to deal with the wrath of the label, who has considered LD an artist it regretted signing in this decision being only the latest in a series of disasters. The tour is bad timing already with Mike dealing with an issue concerning his father, from who he is somewhat estranged. Something major happens during a stop they make somewhere in the middle of the desert in Death Valley, the incident a good news/bad news situation. Mike believes they can make it a great news situation in the aftermath if everyone goes along with his plan to do nothing, which may be difficult in the age of digital footprints.
Episode 7
Rebirthday

The gang is back in Los Angeles following the "death scam" as GaTa refers to it, with only those in the need to know knowing that the aftermath of the bus explosion, the "death" part, was indeed a scam. While Benny and Dave's new publicist Ava know, Dave has not told Robyn, which may or may not become an issue as she is coming for a two-week visit and actually staying with Dave in his new high tech house, the visit coinciding with Dave's birthday which he also has not told her. The anticipation of the visit, hyped up at least in Dave's mind, may not match the reality. Meanwhile, Mike wants to ask Ava out of a simple first date, such as coffee. Ava has other things on her mind which Mike may not be able to live up to.
Episode 8
Met Gala

Dave has been invited for the first time to the Met Gala. In his new self-awareness of not wanting to get caught up in the trappings of celebrity, he doesn't think too much about it until others around him believe it would be a good platform for "Dave 2.0", his coming out following the bus explosion incident. Mike thinks he should make a proverbial statement by doing something the world will remember. While Dave appoints Ally his "CEO of Morality" i.e. in charge of how he uses his celebrity to promote social causes, she who has the time in a tenuous work situation about which she's told no one, he ends up allowing Jean-Paul, who they've hired to create his outfit, to design one where, if he uses it to its full potential, could get him banned from the event for life. What Dave decides to do at the event in that regard is affected by the vast array of celebrities he meets there. Those celebrities also affect his thoughts of Robyn, who he is not yet at the point of referring to as his girlfriend. Meanwhile, GaTa has been invited to be a panelist on "Media Depictions of Mental Illness", his first major event both speaking about the issue of mental illness and without the associated fame of LD.

Dream Girl

Dave has been open that he is looking for love: for the one. It was even the name of his tour, although the name was probably more in the proverbial sense. Could the one be Robyn? She is still in Los Angeles, and still at his house. Could the one be a total myth in he having just bought a new expensive replacement for his old sex doll, about which Robyn is not weirded-out. Or could the one be some other real person but a fantasy version, such as the person he met at the Met Gala, the two who made a noncommittal but casual date. This issue comes to a head as Emma is preparing a family and friends screening of her documentary on this very subject.

Looking for Love

Dave is once again alone after Robyn leaves him. He is also in a feud with Emma about the documentary, he in the process trying to regain control of at least the footage that she has shot. But someone from his recent past reenters his life, she who will change his life forever.
