A team of policewomen with supernatural powers try to protect the Earth from an alien invasion known as the Lucifer Hawks.

A deadly virus known as has attacked humanity with vicious meaning. At the forefront of the battle is the mystifying Akamatsu Industries - disguised as a heavy machine factory in Tokyo, this undercover organization uses neural enhanced weapons known as NeuroNoids to battle Algernon. Also helping with their secret efforts is the mysterious mutant who is only known as "Betterman".

Kazuki Yotsuga is just an ordinary Japanese schoolboy and computer geek, but when he starts seeing visions of battling giant robots, his life starts to change forever. His participation in his girlfriend's, Mitsuki Sandada, scientist father, Ken Sanada, throws him into a parallel Earth that is threatened by the organization, Raragun,who is gunning for world domination. Kazuki finds that he has no family in this world but it does have a version of the Sanada's as members of an elite defense force dedicated to stopping Raragun. Now Kazuki must join the fight as the only male of an all female pilot force who can pilot the giant robots wielded in this war even as he must adjust in this strange world.

In the 21st century mankind was on the brink of destruction. Through genetic engineering however they eradicated such feelings as love and the desire for power. Since women are naturally less aggressive than men, women to man ratio was set to 9:1. Now people are engineered to have skills that others view as being necessary. There is a giant ring that now orbits the earth, that sits there and relays information back to an alien race that sent it. Now a team of five women will try to eradicate the alien threat.

It has been thirty two years since the Invaders have been defeated, and A.E.G.I.S is dismantled, with only a few Gate Keepers left. One of them, Ayane Isuzu learns that Machine General and Devil Count are back and they must save the Earth once more.
