Episode 1
Mon, Oct 12, 201540 mins
Outwardly, twenty-six year old Rebecca's life seems great, as witnessed by her recent promotion to junior partner at the prestigious New York City law firm where she works. But she knows she isn't happy, as she once tried to commit suicide while in college, is on a plethora of prescription medications to deal with her anxiety, and her whole life has been spent on her career primarily at the urging of her controlling mother. It isn't until she runs into Josh Chan, who she hasn't seen in ten years, they who dated at summer camp that year and he who broke up with her at the end of camp, that she realizes that what would make her happy is being with Josh. The problem is that he, after living in New York for eight months and not being able to make it there, has decided to go home to West Covina, California, where he says everyone is "happy". So Rebecca decides to be happy by declining the promotion and packing up and moving to West Covina on the premise that she has a job there, while really it's to pursue Josh. She does find a job easily at Whitefeather and Associates, a second rate law firm (as they all are in West Covina), with some of her new coworkers suspect of why a Yale and Harvard graduate would give up a good job in New York for a second rate one in West Covina. In trying to track down Josh, Rebecca meets Greg Serrano, a bartender at a local joint, he who is a childhood friend of Josh's and who Rebecca uses at any opportunity to find Josh. If Rebecca were to look closer in other avenues, she may find that she has kindred spirits in West Covina, one as potential love interest, and another who believes in the pursuit of true love.

Episode 2
Mon, Oct 19, 201543 mins
Rebecca and her new best friend Paula go on a search for Josh, frequenting where he is known to go, while Paula discloses why she feels a connection to Rebecca. Their joint focus on Rebecca's love life may pose problems at work, that is unless Rebecca can show that her Harvard law degree is worth its reputation. Their new BFF status is threatened when Rebecca does eventually run into Josh, his girlfriend Valencia, and by happenstance Greg while she is out alone without Paula. Despite Josh's coded message to her not to get too close and not to disclose the nature of their summer together, Rebecca does whatever she can to get to know Valencia to get closer to Josh. What she learns about Valencia besides being a beautiful woman, is that she is a yoga instructor, is controlling, is jealous by nature, and has no women friends in her belief that other women find her too threatening. Rebecca also eventually learns that Josh and Valencia have been a couple for a long time, even before Rebecca met Josh at summer camp, that time when Josh considers he and Valencia to be on a break. Rebecca will have a difficult task in breaking through Valencia's guarded but well attired exterior, while not alienating Josh in the process. Through it all, Greg watches it unfold while having mixed feelings about his own pursuit of Rebecca.

Episode 3
Mon, Oct 26, 201542 mins
In an attempt to get closer to Josh, Rebecca throws a housewarming party despite her lack of social connections in West Covina and a childhood fear of hosting parties. When Paula finally convinces her, the party turns out to be nothing like they anticipated.

Episode 4
Mon, Nov 2, 201542 mins
Seeing the butter commercial again that was part of the reason she left New York to go to West Covina, Rebecca, on the verge of making yet another big mistake, decides that she needs to make healthier choices in life in all its aspects, including becoming a vegan. Finding out about Rebecca's new life choices, Greg, who knows that Rebecca is probably not the "healthiest" choice for him but yet who cannot stop thinking about her, decides to ask her out yet again in that healthier option of her not pining over attached Josh. Rebecca has to decide if she will go out with Greg - which has its pluses and minuses with respect to the possibility of Josh being in her romantic future - and if she does how much she will allow herself to enjoy her healthier than pining for Josh choice. Meanwhile, Josh, after going away on a short vacation with Valencia, realizes that he has to find a job to make money, with the last resort working with his father in the radiation lab. And Heather, who is open to Rebecca that she is writing her psychology term paper on her, may come to some conclusions not so much about her hypothesis about Rebecca, but about her association with Rebecca in and of itself.

Episode 5
Mon, Nov 9, 201541 mins
Seeing them out together, Greg accuses both Rebecca and Josh of being terrible people, Rebecca because she slept with another man while Greg and Rebecca were on a date, and Josh because he continually hangs out with Rebecca despite he knowing that Valencia doesn't like it. Rebecca comes to the eventual realization that she cares what Greg thinks because she considers him to be her moral compass. So she goes to great lengths to prove to him that she is indeed a nice person. Beyond throwing lots of money at certain world "problems", Rebecca decides that her grand gesture of niceness is finally to agree to represent Darryl in his legal battle against his soon to be ex-wife Stacy for custody of their daughter, Madison. Rebecca has to decide how far she will go to get what she believes Darryl wants while still coming across as a nice person. Paula ends up being a tangential beneficiary in the process. Meanwhile, Josh takes what Greg says to heart in reviewing his feelings toward Rebecca. He goes to what is his own not often used moral compass to find some answers, that place where he gets some rather non-traditional advice.

Episode 6
Mon, Nov 16, 201542 mins
It's a couple of days before Thanksgiving. Rebecca's Thanksgiving plans are to head back to New York and spend the day with her mother as usual, despite it feeling more like an obligation than a want. But when Rebecca learns from Josh that Valencia generally has Thanksgiving dinner with the extended Chan family and from Greg and Chris that Josh's stereotypically Asian parents don't like Valencia because they don't see her as being smart, Paula not only convinces Rebecca to try and wrangle an invitation to the Chan family Thanksgiving dinner, but sets in motion a plan to get that invitation without telling Rebecca about the plan until it is well under way. Paula figures that Rebecca can wow the Chans as she is everything that they would want in a daughter-in-law, and is everything that Valencia is not, especially in a direct comparison. The plan to get the invitation works. The questions become if Rebecca can dazzle the Chans as is the second part of the plan, if so if Mr. and Mrs. Chan will have any influence on Josh's choice of a girlfriend/wife, and if Valencia's intense dislike of Rebecca as trying to steal Josh will factor into the equation. Meanwhile, Paula is single-minded in her focus for the day as she has her own dysfunctional family Thanksgiving. And Greg has decided to quit his dead end job at the bar to pursue his long held dream of going back to business school, while at the same time finally moving out of his father's house. Greg spending Thanksgiving with his father, retired Italian restaurateur Marco Serrano, who has always supported Greg in whatever he wanted to do, will give Greg a clearer picture if his business school dream and moving out can become a reality at this point in time.

Episode 7
Mon, Nov 23, 201542 mins
Paula is irked that Rebecca spent Thanksgiving with Greg instead of Josh, and that she is happy about Josh and Valencia moving in together, Rebecca having even bought them the meaningful house warming gift of a rice cooker to bridge their two cultures. But an incident makes Rebecca come to the realization that she isn't really as happy about Josh and Valencia as she had made out. Against the advice of the hallucination of Dr. Phil, Rebecca decides the best way to make herself feel better is to self-medicate. As she threw away all her prescription anti-anxiety medications, she does whatever she needs to get whatever drugs she can to replace those, which may end up getting her into deeper trouble. Her anxiety issues come at a bad time professionally as Calvin Young, the biggest potential client Whitefeather has ever had, is in southern California from his hometown of Tuscon specifically on a real estate lawyer shopping trip. But it may be Paula, and not Rebecca, who could be the clincher for Whitefeather getting the business. Regardless of the poor state of her marriage and being attracted to Calvin, Paula may have to decide how far she will go with Calvin irrespective of the business implication. Meanwhile, Josh wants to take some initiative in giving Valencia a surprise gift of furniture, more specifically a dining room table. Josh does this against the advice of his friends, who know that whatever Josh picks out will not be what opinionated and picky Valencia will want.

Episode 8
Mon, Nov 30, 201542 mins
It's the December holiday season. Because Rebecca didn't go back to New York to spend Thanksgiving with her mother who has controlled most everything that has happened in her life up until she moved to West Covina, her mother decides to come to West Covina for Hanukkah. Rebecca doesn't want to admit that she still is a "mom pleaser", doing everything in her power to make her mother happy. But Rebecca does admit that she wants the family heirloom of the Garfinkel ring for what it means. It is passed down through the female lineage of her family, that transfer which was supposed to happen when Rebecca was eighteen as a sign of becoming a mature adult, but her mother who did not feel she was ready at that time for the responsibility. Rebecca will have to decide how far she will go to please her mother on the expectation that she came to West Covina now in part to go through with the family ritual. Meanwhile, Josh is lamenting no longer being a kid, as he misses the fun that kids have at Christmas. Josh is able to revisit his past, and learns if he can indeed go back in his life again. And Greg is dreading the one dinner he has each year for the holidays on Christmas Eve Eve with his mother Shawna - who he feels abandoned him - and her new pretentious and ostentatious Beverly Hills life, which includes "trotting him out" as the poor, worthless son to her husband, Stew, and Greg's teenaged twin half siblings, Mason and Lily. Upon a request, he unexpectedly brings a second for the first time if only to have someone he knows validate what he goes through and thus justify his feelings of anger and resentment toward his mother, who he cannot even call mom.

Episode 9
Mon, Jan 25, 201642 mins
Paula refuses to help Rebecca get out of her continual messes until she stops being in denial about being in love with Josh. The latest example of that denial in Paula's eyes is that Rebecca tries to infiltrate Josh's group of friends not because she wants to be closer to Josh, but because she wants to be within a community of friends and she sees Josh's friends as her friends. Regardless of if Valencia has ulterior motives - which she does - Rebecca is buoyed when Valencia invites her along with Josh's friends on their weekend outing to the beach. In her want to impress Josh's friends and especially Josh in being within the group, Rebecca decides on a grand gesture of renting a party bus for their trip without telling them beforehand. In the confined space of the bus on what is generally the four hour trip to the beach (two without traffic), Rebecca will discover whether Josh's friends truly are her friends. It also provides a backdrop for Josh and his friends, especially Greg, to examine the nature of their friendship, Josh and Greg who have been friends since kindergarten. The situation may show Rebecca and the others if she truly is crazy (despite Rebecca not liking the term itself).

Episode 10
Mon, Feb 1, 201642 mins
Now that Rebecca is no longer in denial about being in love with Josh, Paula believes Rebecca can get back on track in her true pursuit of him as her boyfriend. The next opportunity Paula and Rebecca see is when Josh mentions that he volunteers as a counselor for underprivileged youth who are going on their overnight camp, and Rebecca being there also as a counselor to rekindle the memories of when they dated at camp ten years ago. It would especially show up Valencia, who doesn't like Josh doing this volunteering, she who would rather him work extra hours to make more money. Although they don't need any extra counselors, Rebecca is able to bribe her way in to the overnight camp, she who will be providing a mandatory seminar for the young women on female empowerment. Against Paula's advice, Rebecca also hopes to read to Josh a love letter she wrote to him ten years ago at camp but never got a chance to give to him in his hasty departure. Rebecca will find if the magic from ten years ago as teens still applies to her and Josh's mid-twenties, and with them being on the opposite side of counselors as opposed to teenager attendees. While Rebecca may or may not be a crazy ex-girlfriend, Darryl may or may not be a crazy ex-beach friend as he tries to bond with his beach buddies by hosting a boys' night in watching the pay-per-view boxing match which none of them could afford and for which Darryl will roll out his skills as King of the Spread. Darryl may have to roll out more to get them truly to be his new buddies. And Greg is feeling a bit smothered by Heather as she announces to him that she plans to be exclusive with him. Greg vows that he is not afraid of commitment, which is what his friends think, as he states he would fully commit if the right girl came along. Greg may be able to test his hypothesis.

Episode 11
Mon, Feb 8, 201642 mins
In the flush of love just having recently run into Josh, Rebecca sends Paula a text to confirm how much she loves Josh, the text sent during a deposition meeting where Rebecca and Paula are in attendance with the judge, the two clients and the opposing lawyer. When Paula motions to Rebecca that she didn't receive the text, Rebecca finds that she mistakenly sent the text to Josh instead. An initially horrified Rebecca remembers that Josh left his phone at home while he went out to his tae kwon do class, and that Valencia also has back-to-back yoga classes, meaning that to save herself from Josh seeing the text, she has to break into their apartment, find Josh's phone and figure out his password to delete the text before either Josh or Valencia make it home in about three hours. First, however, Rebecca has to get out of the deposition meeting, which may not be as easy as she hopes...or is it? Rebecca has to decide how far she will go to delete the text while not being caught. Regardless, Rebecca may be solo on this mission as Paula and Scott have scheduled a romantic dinner together alone as a "professionally" advised measure to put some spark back in their marriage, which they both realize has long been suffering. If Rebecca does impose on Paula during this crucial time, it may irreparably affect Paula's marriage.
Episode 12
Mon, Feb 22, 201642 mins
It's been two weeks since the "break-in" at Rebecca's apartment, and Josh has not been in contact with her at all, making her think that perhaps she has lost him forever this time. Even though Paula's latest scheme to get Rebecca and Josh together, which involves Rebecca telling Josh that she has started dating an old colleague from Harvard, does have the intended promised effect of getting the two of them together for dinner, it doesn't quite turn out the way Paula had envisioned. However, Rebecca, Paula and Mrs. Hernandez simultaneously come up with a brainchild for which they just have to flesh out the details: Rebecca has to manufacture something for which she will be Josh's lawyer, so that they would have to spend time together. Rebecca comes up with a legal issue which she doesn't even have to manufacture, and that would play up to Valencia's thirst for Josh to make more money. While the case expands into ways Rebecca did not envision for good and bad, she finds that there are unlikely bedfellows working against her. Meanwhile, Darryl is still fixating over what White Josh's hug and kiss on his cheek meant. In that fixation and learning a bit more about White Josh, Darryl also can't help but fixate on if his bromance with White Josh is more than just a bromance from his own perspective.

Episode 13
Mon, Feb 29, 201642 mins
Rebecca's current Paula-directed plan to be with Josh has the potential to fall apart when Valencia and Greg, wanting to catch her in a lie, confront her with Trent Maddock, her Harvard classmate who is supposed to be her new boyfriend. Despite not having seen Rebecca since their Harvard days, Trent willingly goes along with Rebecca's ruse, he who has his own ulterior motives in doing so which he makes quite clear to her in the process. Rebecca has no option but to keep Trent around, he who could still prove useful in other ways. With Bert's information in hand, Rebecca and the legal team proceed with a class action lawsuit in which they have to mobilize the residents of neighboring communities within the San Gabriel Valley to sue Greater City Water. She learns that Greater City Water has hired a high powered New York law firm with the lead lawyer being her childhood nemesis, Audra Levine, who has the job for which Rebecca was considered before moving to West Covina, which makes the case even more personal for her. In the process of the case, Rebecca has to decide what her end goal is if it comes down to choices: being with Josh, winning the case and in the process beating Audra, and/or something else. Meanwhile, Greg feels he has to show Heather that he wants to spend more time with her while helping her out, meaning trying to get her a job working with him at the bar. And Darryl and White Josh test the waters of a possible relationship, which for White Josh means Darryl not shoving him back in the closet, and by association Darryl himself not hiding in the "his and her" closet.

Episode 14
Mon, Mar 7, 201642 mins
Rebecca and gang are living through what would be act 2 of a **½ rom-com. Following Rebecca and Josh's passionate kiss, Josh runs off, leaving Rebecca wondering what it all means. In Josh's eyes, it means that he is conflicted, but knows what he did was wrong, both because he is in a committed relationship with Valencia, and Rebecca supposedly with Trent. Josh contemplates coming clean to Valencia, believing that she would break up with him if he does. All he knows is that he can have a respite of sorts in that he is scheduled to fly to Maui to support Hector in a surfing competition, during which time he can get some perspective on the situation. When Rebecca learns all this information, she turns again to Paula, who only knows that Rebecca has to be on the same flight as Josh to Hawaii, all else be damned. Rebecca getting on that flight hits a snag when she learns that she has let one rather important aspect of her life get out of control, which if she does not fix will not get her on that plane. She has to figure out how to get out of her hole, or whether the issue in and of itself is more important than getting on the plane. Meanwhile, Darryl wants to tell the world that he is bisexual, news which others may not be as interested in as he is, and news which White Josh in particular may not be as interested in him divulging as it relates to "them". And Greg and Heather have to figure out how to continue to work together in light of they no longer being a couple.

Episode 15
Mon, Mar 21, 201640 mins
Realizing that her life in West Covina is nothing as she outwardly thought it was going to be, Rebecca, rather than hop on a plane to Hawaii with Josh as was her original plan, has instead hopped on a plane to New York City to resume her old life, with a guarantee of her old job if she wants it. Coincidentally, the person sitting next to her on the plane is Dr. Akopian, who she has not seen since her first failed therapy session months ago. With five hours on a plane together, Dr. Akopian suggests they attempt a real therapy session with their time, to which Rebecca agrees. Rebecca sees her primary problem as being a failure in the area of love, especially romantic love. On this topic, Rebecca finds that her session with Dr. Akopian is nothing as she rationally thought. Meanwhile, Paula finds out that Josh has not gone to Hawaii and as such Rebecca is probably not on her way to Hawaii as she thought. Others in Rebecca's close social circle also find out as they try to find out what has happened to her. Greg, however, has to decide if Rebecca truly is someone who he will and should invest his time in any respect.

Episode 16
Mon, Mar 28, 201643 mins
Following Rebecca's "therapy" session with dream Dr. Akopian, she realizes that she has to make healthier choices in life, most specifically not obsessing over Josh. This revelation is timely as she is able to tell Josh that she did indeed have feelings for him when he finds her photo roll of him. Rebecca thinks she should get some distance from him, which is difficult when Josh's sister Jayma asks Rebecca to be one of her bridesmaids. However, Rebecca ultimately believes it is a good opportunity in making amends to Josh and Valencia by getting Jayma also to ask Valencia to be in the bridal party while truly making Valencia a shining star in the Chans' eyes as their future in-law. To do so, Rebecca will have to get over Valencia's mistrust and hatred of her while not falling into her old traps of doing everything to be with Josh. Rebecca's new outlook doesn't sit well with Paula, who has always come to Rebecca's rescue in the Josh matter, and which she feels she needs to this time as well. Meanwhile, Greg thinks he is acing his classes, while in reality he is deluding himself about the state of his life which includes not acing his classes. Greg sees an opportunity to help a struggling soul like himself when he meets Marty, a stock boy at his local supermarket, who is in love with one of the new clerks, Ally, who in return won't give him the time of day. This encounter with Marty may make Greg finally see the reality of his own life.

Episode 17
Mon, Apr 11, 201642 mins
Now that Rebecca and Greg are having sex with each other, they have to figure out what it all means. The balance of power in their relationship may also shift because of it. Most people around them know that both are getting it and most that see the two of them together know that they are doing it with each other. Josh is somewhat in denial about it, as he is feeling pressure from Valencia to get married as they deal with Josh's sister's wedding. The one person who has not seen the two of them together is Paula, who knows that Rebecca is getting some, which she is perfectly fine with in the state of what is happening between her and Josh, as long as that person with who she is getting it is not Greg. As such, Rebecca has to decide what exactly to tell Paula. Rebecca and Paula also have to figure out what will replace Rebecca getting together with Josh as the focus of their friendship. Although they may try to fill that void, a question becomes whether that issue can sustain their friendship as much as the pursuit of Josh did.

Episode 18
Mon, Apr 18, 201643 mins
Now that both Josh and Paula have found out that Rebecca is sleeping with Greg, they have to redefine their respective relationships with Rebecca, if at all. Paula in particular sees Rebecca not telling her directly about Greg being a betrayal to their friendship, especially as Paula reveals just how much behind the scenes work she did to get Rebecca together with Josh. As Rebecca is now unavailable, Josh believes he has to take the next logical step with Valencia, especially as they have been a couple for fifteen years, but he wants to do it on his own terms instead of Valencia pressuring him to ask her officially. Insecure Greg begins to overthink his relationship with Rebecca, he contemplating playing the games he usually does despite what seems to be his true feelings for her. All these relationships have the potential to come to a head at Jayma's wedding reception, the spirit of the occasion which gives each the idea to profess their true feelings to the one they love,... or think they love. Rebecca has the additional problem of not being officially invited to the wedding after the issue with Jayma's wedding dress. If she does make it to the reception, Rebecca may play out her childhood fantasy of portraying the pseudo Disney princess when she professes her love, and when her love professes the same back to her.
