The comedy-drama cop show "Common Law" stars Michael Ealy as Travis Marks, a womanizing L.A. detective who is partnered with the divorced, former lawyer Wes Mitchell (Warren Kole). The two are polar opposites temperamentally, and soon during a routine investigation Wes points his gun at his partner, prompting their Captain (Jack McGee) to order them into therapy with an analyst (Sonya Walger) who specializes in helping build trust between couples and has helped the Captain in the past. As the mismatched duo attempt to work out their feelings with one another, they investigate a number of crimes including the homicide of a woman who was attempting to find love on a dating site on which Wes' ex-wife also has a profile, and an attack on the analyst's boyfriend.
