The third season of "Chesapeake Shores" answers the question of how the O'Brien sisters – Abby (Meghan Ory), Jess (Laci J. Mailey), and Bree (Emilie Ullerup) – are going to cope with their personal losses after breaking up with the supposed love of their lives. Abby's Trace (Jesse Metcalfe) has left to pursue his dreams of music stardom, while Jess' David (Carlo Marks) has to take care of his family's business interests. On the other hand, Simon (Oliver Rice) gets pushed out due to Bree's trust issues and need to overcome her writer's block. Meanwhile, the O'Brien brothers Kevin (Brendan Penny) and Connor (Andrew Francis) are about to open new chapters in their lives. Supporting the brood is O'Brien patriarch Mick (Treat Williams) and his mother Nell (Diane Ladd). The brood's mother Megan (Barbara Niven) continues with her attempts to reclaim her place in her children's lives.
