An Emmy-winning, irregularly scheduled documentary series first nurtured by legendary 'See It Now' producers Fred Friendly and Edward R. Murrow, who also narrated its premiere report, 'Biography of a Missile.' The show touched on cultural subjects as well as hard-hitting news stories, and its many memorable shows included 'Hunger in America,' 'KKK---The Invisible Empire,' 'The Selling of the Pentagon' and 'Gauguin in Tahiti.' The familiar opening theme was Aaron Copland's 'Appalachian Spring.'
