The investigators follow multiple digital clues that suggest that Valena knew her killer. The hope was that the electronic data contained within Valena's digital heart monitor device, a "ZOLL LifeVest 4000" wearable defibrillator, would pinpoint the time of death to help point toward the perpetrator -- and it did. In the end, the killer was Lee Williams, the boyfriend of Valena's home health aide, Quineasha Anderson. The motive was robbery. Lee Williams was convicted at trial and sentenced to "25 years to life" for the murder of Valena. Appearing on the show were two of Valena's relatives, her sister Jamie Shepherd Leach and Valena's niece-in-law Christina Cruz. Both women spoke of the tremendous grief and pain they both felt at the loss of their beloved Valena.
