James, a gay 26 year old singer and songwriter, moved to New York six months ago. Once on the cusp of success, James was given a recording deal when he was 19 but lost it by the time he was 21. Since then he has been on a downward spiral of weight gain and laziness. Now living off of dwindling savings, he comes on the show to start getting in shape and revitalize his singing career, hoping that this will lead to a more active life and, by associate, a more active romantic life.
