Blue's Clues
Blue's Clues is a breakthrough play-along show that allows its preschool audience to "step inside" and become part of a bright, fanciful world where the host, Steve, lives with his animated puppy, Blue. The audience actively participates in Steve's daily routine and helps solve everyday problems, all within a context of entertaining games and activities. Blue's Clues is designed to develop preschoolers' thinking, reasoning and social skills through an educational approach called "flexible thinking," a theory that recognizes that children need to learn, not just what to think, but how to think for themselves. Blue's Clues uses a play-along format, which encourages kids to actively participate in using the clues as they view the program.

They donÂ't have the right colors, so we figure out which colors they can mix to get the colors they need. Then we skidoo into a book about colors, where we help our color friends Orange, Violet and Chartreuse figure out what primary and secondary colors combine to make them. All the colors then dance, mix and sing the color mixing song along with Joe."

Blue's Charts!

Today we're using charts to measure all sorts of things. Mr. Salt needs to figure out what everyone's favorite snack is so he can make them, so we make a chart to help him out. Throughout the day we ask our friends what their favorite snacks are and add them to the chart. At the same time, we play Blue's Clues to figure out what Blue's favorite snack is. We help Shovel and Pail make a chart to figure out which animals they see the most in the backyard. Then we skidoo to a pig farm, where we use a chart to figure how much food to feed each pig.
