BBC Young Dancer showcases the very best of young British dance talent. Young dancers enter in one of four categories of dance: Ballet, Contemporary, Street and South Asian dance. BBC Young Dancer culminates in a grand final when the best dancers in each category will dance against each other for the title. As well as being a contest and showcase, BBC Young Dancer is committed to providing all of the finalists with a rich experience that stands them in good stead as they continue their dance education. The finalists work alongside BBC Young Dancer mentors, specialist high profile personalities from each category of dance, who guide and advise them on their journey and prepare them for the final.

Episode 1

South Asian Dance Final

This year's competition gets underway with five dancers competing in the South Asian category, which features two of the most popular classical Indian dance styles - Kathak and Bharatanatyam.

Contemporary Dance Final
