Olive and the others begin their work on the Greek Island of Lemnos, caring for the wounded who arrive from the Dardanelles with limited supplies and support from the Australian Army. Elsie fights to be able to provide proper care for Syd in Egypt.

Meanwhile, Alice is forced to face the emotional brutality of war as Harry is believed to have been killed at Fromelles.

Alice struggles to comprehend the news she receives in the wake of an Allied assault in Fromelles. Olive's work at the clearing station brings matters of death, love, and duty to a head. Hilda and a handful of nurses are given the opportunity to work in anaesthetisation, and the arrival of the Croix Rouge leads to the return of a familiar face as another departs.

But finally, the Great War reaches its close as Armistice is declared, and we discover what became of our ANZAC Girls.
