Whilst traveling across America living off the money from a large inheritance, ex-fireman Nashe has a chance meeting with Pozzi, a professional gambler and card shark. Nashe agrees to fund the penniless Pozzi in a game of poker against two eccentric millionaires, Flower and Stone, in an attempt to regain some of his spent fortune. His gamble has unforeseen and bizarre consequences for both himself and Pozzi. This film is an almost exact translation of the novel by Paul Auster.

Tintin and Sakharine have one each and the villain intends to use the glass-shattering top Cs of operatic soprano the Milanese Nightingale to secure the third. With aid from bumbling Interpol agents the Thompson Twins our boy hero, his dog and the captain must prevent Sakharine from obtaining all three scrolls to fulfil the prophesy that only the last of the Haddocks can discover the treasure's whereabouts.

On the night of their thirtieth wedding anniversary celebration, Michael Brandon, who owns and runs a research firm, tells his wife, Audrey Brandon, that he wants to leave her for another woman, his colleague Christine Boll. The one person she wants to trust is her college boyfriend, now married David Larabee, who had business dealings with Michael, whose wife Joan Larabee was a close, personal friend of Michael's, and who Audrey admits to herself is the one person who she would have even remotely considered cheating with herself if the opportunity ever arose.
