A Man of His Time
September 1940. Self-styled author and "political strategist" Henri Marre arrives alone in Vichy as the authoritarian regime settles in. Broke, estranged from his family, and carrying copies of his self-published manifesto Notre Salut (Our Salvation), the 49-year-old is determined to secure what he believes is his rightful place in the new administration. In his writing, Henri sets out his patriotic convictions and his engineer's methodology: efficiency above all. Claiming he wants to help save France after defeat, he does whatever is required to remain useful, serving the machinery of the new order with increasing skill. But he may be pursuing something more urgent: escape from his own ruin.

The Samurai and the Prisoner
Set in 1578 during the war-torn Sengoku period of feudal Japan, this introspective historical thriller centers on Lord Murashige Araki (Masahiro Motoki), a powerful warlord who launches a bold rebellion against the tyrannical forces of Oda Nobunaga (Bando Shingo). After fortifying his position, Murashige finds his stronghold, Arioka Castle, cut off, isolated, and heavily besieged by the massive enemy army. As political tensions reach a boiling point, the fragile internal order of his court completely fractures when a series of bizarre, seemingly impossible murders takes place within the locked fortress walls. Realizing that a traitor is lurking among his closest family members and advisors, a desperate Murashige is forced to form an uneasy, manipulative alliance with Kanbei Kuroda (Masaki Suda), a brilliant but highly dangerous military strategist whom he has kept locked away in an underground dungeon. Operating in a high-stakes race against time, the paranoid lord and his insightful prisoner engage in a complex psychological game to unravel the sealed-castle mysteries and weed out the conspirators before the outer walls collapse and the fortress falls to Nobunaga's closing forces.

Die letzten Millionen
In order to bring some fun and excitement into their monotonous retirement, six residents of a Berlin retirement home have founded a lottery betting pool: the aging bon vivant Conrad, the gay couple Otto and Jakob, the good-natured Rosi and the lovesick couple Karin and Günter. Week after week they all look forward to the drawing of the winning numbers - until one Saturday the improbable becomes reality: the unlikely group cracks the bulging jackpot of 30 million euros. The reactions of the newly minted multi-millionaires are very different: While the philanderer Conrad wants to party hard again and squander the money on champagne with beautiful women, the romantics Otto and Jakob use their share to fulfill their dream of owning their own sailing yacht. Meanwhile, Rosi doesn't really know what's happening to her - and is being exploited to the fullest by her son and his greedy wife. Karin, who loves to explore, is completely different: She wants to fulfill her lifelong dream and travel the whole world despite her age - even if it means risking her marriage to her bitter husband Günter, who has long since written off all joy in life. Meanwhile, the idealistic geriatric nurse Carmen tries to keep her charges' arrogance in check. Because the millions neither bring the youth back nor protect them from blows of fate. For better or worse, each of the lottery kings has to learn in their own way that although money allows for a lot of freedom, the key to happiness doesn't necessarily have to be made of gold.

Our Land
Our Land dares to tread where few have trespassed before. The film seamlessly juxtaposes the two sides of the debate around our access to nature, giving voice to the different perspectives: those fighting for greater access to the countryside and the landowners who claim to be stewards of the land. Through organised 'mass trespass' events, the Right to Roam movement sets out to increase public access to nature, but finds itself in conflict with England's landowners. Orban Wallace pulls together these two disparate worlds into a sharply observed film exploring the complex issues of access, custodianship and conservation. Blending history with an eye on the future, the film challenges age-old beliefs around property that have shaped our relationship with the land for over a thousand years. And as the battle for nature continues the film asks the vital question, who truly has the right to roam?
