Argentina defeated the Netherlands in penalty kicks following 120 minutes of scoreless soccer. After uneventful regulation and extra time, the suspense was quickly drawn out of the match when Argentina's goalkeeper, Sergio Romero, stopped the first and third penalty kicks taken by the Dutch. Argentina would go on to clinch the shootout 4-2 after not missing a single shot.
The championship match will take place on Sunday at 3/2c on ABC, with Argentina facing Germany. Brazil will face the Netherlands on Saturday at 4/3c on ESPN in the third-place match.
