Fans of Desperate Housewives will be in for a treat later this summer when Marc Cherry's new darkly comedic drama Why Women Kill arrives on CBS All Access.

The streaming service announced Tuesday that Why Women Kill will launch the premiere of its 10-episode first season on Thursday, Aug. 15. CBS All Access also revealed a few key images of the show's leading ladies: Lucy Liu in her first post-Elementary role, Once Upon a Time star Ginnifer Goodwin, who recently starred in a key episode of CBS All Access' The Twilight Zone reboot, and Kirby Howell-Baptiste of The Good Place and Killing Eve.

Liu, Goodwin, and Howell-Baptiste will each star as a woman scorned by the infidelity of her husband, and, as the title indicates, things will get deadly for someone involved. The women also exist in different timelines: One is a housewife in the '60s, one is a socialite in the '80s, and one is a lawyer in 2019.

The series will examine how gender roles for women have shifted across generations, but also how their response to betrayal remains the same.
