Move over, Rick! There's a new leader in town.

Gang Related and Missing alum Cliff Curtis has been cast as the male lead in the pilot for AMC's Walking Dead companion series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

From Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman and Dave Erickson, the untitled project follows the aftermath of the same zombie apocalypse at the center of the original hit show, but takes place at a different location.

Curtis will play Sean Cabrera, a teacher described as a good man trying to do right by everyone in his life. Sean shares a son with his ex-wife, Andrea. Actresses are still being tested for the top female role of Nancy Tomkins, a guidance counselor who works at the school with Sean.

Earlier this week, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince alum Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey (Into the Stormwere cast as Nancy's drug-addicted son, Nick, and her ambitious daughter Ashley, respectively.

Curtis' big screen credits include Training Day, Live Free or Die Hard and Three Kings.
