Veronica Mars Kickstarter Closes with $5.7 Million

The Veronica Mars movie Kickstarter campaign has officially closed, with a final tally of $5,702,153 raised.

That's well above the initial goal of $2 million, and the campaign also set a record for the highest number of backers ever: 91,585. It's the third-highest funded projected in Kickstarter history.

Supporters who donated to the campaign will be eligible to receive rewards ranging from T-shirts to a speaking role in the movie, depending on the amount of their donation. Anyone who donated $10 or more will get a sheet of Veronica Mars stickers designed exclusively for the campaign.

There's no word on when production will start on the film.
