Who is Tim Burton going to cast as a female lead now? The Edward Scissorhands director and actress Helena Bonham Carter have called it quits as a couple after 13 years, Peoplereports.
The pair, who were never married, have two children together, son Billy Raymond, 11, and daughter Nell, 7. Burton, 56, and Carter, 48, separated earlier this year "and have continued to be friends and co-parent their children," a rep told the magazine.

The couple worked together on numerous films, including Planet of the Apes, Big Fish, The Corpse Bride, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Alice in Wonderland, and Dark Shadows.

The news of the breakup comes just days before the Christmas release of Burton's latest film, Big Eyes, in which Bonham Carter does not appear. She will next play the Fairy Godmother in Disney's Cinderella redo, set to hit theaters in March 2015. She is also set to reprise her role as the Red Queen in the 2016 sequel to Alice in Wonderland, which Burton is executive-producing but not directing.
