Tiger Woods has a new Nike commercial — but it's his late father who does all the talking in it.

On Wednesday — the eve of The Masters — the sportswear giant unveiled a black-and-white, 30-second spot on ESPN and the Golf Channel, featuring a solemn-looking Woods staring at the camera while a voiceover of Earl Woods plays.

"Tiger, I am more prone to be inquisitive, to promote discussion," the elder Woods says in a deep, disciplinary tone. "I want to find out what your thinking was. I want to find out what your feelings are. And did you learn anything?"His son, dressed in Nike golf gear, remains silent as the camera zooms in on his face before Nike's trademark swoosh flashes against a black screen.

It is unclear when Earl Woods' recording was made. Earl Woods, who started coaching his son when he was a toddler, died in May 2006 of prostate cancer."We support Tiger and his family. As he returns to competitive golf, the ad addresses his time away from the game using the powerful words of his father," Nike said in a statement.The ad is the golfer's first since his sex scandal broke in November. While many of his sponsors have dropped the 14-time major champion, Nike has kept him on board.

Nike chairman: Tiger Woods' indiscretions a "minor blip"

The company's chairman, Phil Knight, has said Woods' marital indiscretions were a "minor blip" in his legacy.

Woods, 34, is set to return to golf at The Masters, which starts Thursday.
