This Is Us threw its fans not just one but a few big curveballs in the Season 2 finale.

The episode focused on Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Toby's (Chris Sullivan) wedding, which brought the entire Pearson family together. Kevin (Justin Hartley) and Randall (Sterling K. Brown) were in charge of delivering Kate her perfect day because it was what Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) would have given her. There were naturally some bumps along the way, but they delivered a pretty great wedding day for their sister.

Of course, one Pearson could not attend the wedding. Jack's absence was felt not just by Kate, but by all who were there. Even Rebecca (Mandy Moore) was worried that her presence would bring up memories of her deceased husband, but in the end Kate was able to finally stop holding on to Jack in order to fully make room for Toby in her heart. Ashes and tears were shed and the ceremony carried on.

Naturally, it was a well-placed flash forward during Randall's reception speech that spiked the heart rates of fans watching everywhere. The show set up three big, "Say what??" moments in the final sequence of the episode. Let's break them down.

1. Who are future Randall and Tess going to visit?

Randall's speech cut between footage of his future self and adult-Tess saying, "It's time to go see her." Tess reveals she's not ready, but the pair leave her office anyway. What makes it more confusing is that the scene is juxtaposed with real-time footage of Deja (Lyric Ross), still emotionally raw about her mom leaving her and taking it out on Randall and Beth, beating the crap out of Randall's car with a baseball bat outside of the reception. The head fake would make you think that Randall and Tess are talking about Deja, but this is This Is Us and you can't believe anything unless it's literally said or shown.

This feels like the big set up for This Is Us and may take a lot of Season 3 to figure out exactly who Randall and Tess are talking about, let alone whatever happened to the person once they go to see her. Is it too early to say if something bad has happened to Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) we boycott this show? We'll try and stay calm until September.

2. Why is Toby depressed?

Kate and Toby's flash-forward revealed that in a year Toby is going to fall into another deep depression. It's so bad that he can't even get out of bed. Kate comes in to say that the doctor wants to readjust Toby's meds but he doesn't even move to acknowledge that his wife is speaking to him.

Earlier in the episode, Toby's parents mentioned that he went into a similar dark funk when his first wife left him. They assumed he was just sad about the divorce, but it looks like there might be a more clinical explanation for Toby's moods. At the very least, he hasn't had a heart attack. It just remains to be seen if Kate can pull him out of whatever funk he has fallen into.

3. Kevin and Beth's cousin are a thing.

It's not all bad news! Kevin meets Beth's beautiful, smart and wise cousin Zoe at Kate and Toby's wedding. Kevin's flash-forward reveals that the two of them will take a trip to Vietnam with a picture of Jack and his little brother Nicky in tow. Zoe is curled up at Kevin's side as their plane starts to descend and he sweetly kisses the top of her head as she wakes up.

This bit of news gets all the YAAAAS we can give it. Zoe has only been around for one episode but we already know that Beth adores her and she was able to talk some sense into Deja, at least for a little while before Deja's boiling rage sent her off the deep end. If Zoe is half as tough and loving as Beth, she is exactly the kind of person that Kevin needs to keep him focus and get his life on track. They'd have really cute babies too, just saying.

Which of the revelations was the most shocking for you?

This Is Us will return this fall on NBC.
