Dust off the cloaks and sweep out the turret because The Traitors is back to raise hell in the Highlands.

Peacock's Emmy-winning competition series is barreling toward its fourth season in early 2026, as the "murder" mystery franchise continues to expand its global reach and contestant pool. After pitting players like Dylan Efron, "Boston Rob" Mariano, Danielle Reyes, Britney Haynes, Bob the Drag Queen, and the national treasure that is Gabby Windey against each other in Season 3, the series hosted by Alan Cumming is looking to continue its reign as the most-talked-about competition on TV with a return to the Traitors Castle in the Scottish Highlands.

But who will be the Traitors among the Faithful this year? What will happen when The Traitors steps away from its celebrity casts? And what other countries are getting in on the game? Here's everything you need to know about The Traitors Season 4 and the expanding global franchise.

More on Peacock:

The Traitors Season 4 release date

Alan Cumming will usher in a new class of Traitors and Faithfuls when The Traitors returns to Peacock for Season 4 on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026, with three new episodes. This is the same week the first three seasons debuted over the past few years, so let's consider the second week of the year to be the start of Traitors season.

Who will be in The Traitors Season 4?

Light up the no vacancies sign because Traitors Castle will play host to 23 celebrities, more than ever before, for a few weeks of murder, mayhem, and a front-row seat to the best fashion show in Scotland, aka Alan Cumming's outfits. Among those joining the series in Season 4 are reality competition series veterans including Natalie Anderson (The Amazing Race), Yamil "Yam Yam" Arocho (Survivor), Mark Ballas (Dancing With the Stars), Rob Cesternino (Survivor), Tiffany Mitchell (Big Brother), Ian Terry (Big Brother), and Monét X Change (RuPaul's Drag Race).

From reality TV, fans will see familiar faces like Candiace Dillard Bassett (The Real Housewives of Potomac), Maura Higgins (Love Island UK), Rob Rausch (Love Island USA), Lisa Rinna (The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills), Caroline Stanbury (The Real Housewives of Dubai), Colton Underwood (The Bachelor, The Bachelorette), Porsha Williams (The Real Housewives of Atlanta), and the always entertaining Dorinda Medley (The Real Housewives of New York City), who makes her triumphant return after being unceremoniously eliminated after one day in Season 3.

The other competitors include Olympic figure skaters, commentators and besties Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski; Top Chef host and former winner Kristen Kish; singer Eric Nam; and actors Stephen Colletti (One Tree Hill), Michael Rapaport, and Ron Funches. Perhaps the biggest wild card of the season is Donna Kelce, whose last name should be a tip-off to her famous football-playing sons, Travis and Jason.

The Traitors Season 4 Cast

What about the non-celebrity version of The Traitors?

Back in August 2025, Alan Cumming revealed that he would be hosting a new edition of The Traitors in 2026 that will feature only civilian players. No celebrities allowed! Better yet, you can still apply to be considered for this new version of the game by visiting www.TheTraitorsUS.com. The application window closes March 10, 2026.

This will be the first time civilians have played the American version of The Traitors since Season 1, when half the cast were celebrities and half were not. That provided an interesting mix of motivations and personalities (if you watched the finale, you know what we mean!), but an all-civilian edition with Cumming sounds like a bloody good time. The twist? It will air on NBC, not on Peacock. Rejoice, cable devotees!

Will there be a Season 5 of The Traitors?

Yes! Peacock has already renewed the show for a fifth season that will film in 2026, in addition to the all-civilian season. Start placing your bets now on who will be joining the potential murderers' row of celebrities.

What other countries are playing The Traitors?

With the series more popular than ever, there are plenty of editions of The Traitors from other countries to tune into if you are jonesing for a fix between seasons of the American edition. Just a few months before the U.S. series began in 2023, The Traitors UK launched on BBC One with its all-civilian format, hosted by Claudia Winkleman. The series films in the same castle as the U.S. version, so they feel like companions to each other –– only with wildly different accents. It wasn't until 2025 that BBC One aired a special The Celebrity Traitors edition, which was such a huge success that it was immediately renewed for a second season. The regular U.K. civilian series will return for a new season on January 1, 2026 (available to stream later on Peacock).

There are other editions of The Traitors across the globe in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and Ireland. The latter series is hosted by Derry Girls' delightful Siobhán McSweeney.

The Traitors Season 4 trailers and videos

The teaser for Season 4 features Cumming in some fabulous outfits, a brief introduction of the competitors, and... blood? This season could be the darkest yet!

The official trailer for Season 4, released in late December, shows off a lot more of the actual gameplay, including some heated exchanges at the roundtable. Bonus points for Ron Funches, who explains what he's excited for in the most relatable way.

Where to watch The Traitors
