The first photos of The Originals Season 5 premiere are here, and they feature a bloody amazing reunion between Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) and Caroline Forbes (Candice King) — emphasis on the bloody.

After a pretty significant time jump, The Originals will return to a teenage Hope (Danielle Rose Russell), who's pretty desperate to reconnect with her father, Klaus. For reasons unknown, Klaus has cut off all contact with his daughter, which has predictably left him in a terrible place. That place just happens to be somewhere in Europe surrounded by a ton of dead bodies.

Luckily, The Vampire Diaries' Caroline Forbes will be recruited to get Klaus back on the wagon, and these photos paint a pretty good picture of what that long-awaited reunion will look like. Never one to condone senseless violence, Caroline doesn't look too pleased to find Klaus in a state of apparent bloodlust, but she does seem somewhat sympathetic to his plight. We've even got a shot of them looking a little flirty, which will no doubt send Klaroline shippers into a frenzy.

Elsewhere, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) is all dolled up, but the love of his life, Rebekah (Claire Holt) is nowhere to be found. Hmm...

The best part of these photos, however, is definitely our first good look at Hope all grown up! Not only do we get to see her in her Salvatore Boarding School uniform (preppy and polished look good on her), we've also got shots of her with Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin). It's a little hard to imagine what kind of sage parenting advice Hayley is giving her though, since we're too focused on how bizarre they look as mother and daughter. They look practically the same age! So weird.

Annoyingly absent from these photos is Elijah (Daniel Gillies), who is off playing pianos somewhere as an amnesiac Original. Check out all the photos in the gallery below!

The Originals premieres April 18 at 9/8c on The CW.
