The X-Files revival has added a few more returning stars for its upcoming run.

Tom Braidwood, Dean Haglund and Bruce Harwood, otherwise known as The Lone Gunmen, will appear in at least one episode of the highly anticipated revival, which could prove very interesting as - spoiler alert - their characters were killed off in the show's ninth season.

Haglund broke the news on Twitter, himself:

Throughout The X-Files' first run, the trio of conspiracy theorists and hackers frequently assisted Mulder and Scully, and penned a news publication called "The Lone Gunman." The three also had a self-titled spin-off in 2001, but it was canceled after only 13 episodes.

Other X-Files favorites returning in January include Walter Skinner (Mitch Pileggi) and the cigarette-smoking man (William B. Davis).

Robbie Amell and Lauren Ambrose join X-Files as new agents

If you're itching for more X-Files news, new footage will be shown Thursday, July 23 during the season finale of Wayward Pines (at 9/8c on Fox).
