The Hills Revival May Not Have L.C., but It Does Have Mischa Barton

Welcome to The Hills, bitch!

Mischa Barton became an idol for playing Marissa Cooper on Fox's The O.C., but after leaving the show in Season 3 she struggled to find her place in Hollywood , leading to unflattering turn on Dancing with the Starsin 2016. But things are looking up for the actress (and us) since Mischa Barton has been cast on MTV's revival of The Hills completing an infinite loop of hot messiness potent enough to give life itself.

Our burning questions about The Hills reunion

Page Six reports that Barton will join original stars including Audrina Patridge, Spencer Pratt, Heidi Montag and Justin Bobby in MTV's revival of the reality series, which was a seminal contribution to the "wealthy young people behaving badly on camera" canon back in the day. MTV later confirmed the news to People.Though Barton never appeared on MTV's reality show, The O.C. helped inspire MTV's Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, which eventually mutated, found a key to everlasting life and become The Hills, which ran from 2006 until 2010.

During the years The Hills was on, Barton was best known for palling around with notorious early 2000s It Girls like Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Richie, so her appearance on the MTV series will be as much a welcome return to TV for the star as it is a guarantee of some can't-miss throwback antics.

The Hills is expected in 2019.
