Former Survivor producer Bruce Beresford-Redman has been arrested in connection to the murder of his wife during a family vacation in Mexico earlier this year, according to Reuters.

Beresford-Redman was taken into custody by federal marshals and FBI agents from his Los Angeles home Tuesday night. He is expected to appear in a federal court in Los Angeles on Wednesday to discuss his extradition.

Mexican authorities want him returned to stand trial on an aggravated homicide charge, but Beresford-Redman's attorney, Richard G. Hirsch, said that his client is innocent and that they plan to fight extradition. Beresford-Redman's wife, Monica, was found dead in a sewer at a Cancun resort in April. An autopsy showed that she died from asphyxiation after suffering a blow to the right temple. Beresford-Redman was briefly detained as a person of interest in the case and later returned to his L.A. home against the wishes of Mexican authorities.
