Shameless Exclusive: Lip Cut His Beautiful Hair in the New Trailer and It's Not Okay

Here is the good news, Shameless fans, the latest look at Season 9 is far more upbeat than the last one that had us fearing the worst.

The Gallaghers are back in action doing what they do best: scheming, taking on the patriarchy, and most importantly sticking together. Frank (William H. Macy) will be pretending to be Latino for his next trick but at least he's getting politically active? Debbie (Emma Kenney) is standing up for herself as a female welder and Fiona (Emmy Rossum) is trying to get Ian (Cameron Monaghan) out of his deep legal trouble after his stint as Gay Jesus in Season 8.

The bad news is that Season 9 takes place in Chicago's hot summer and Lip (Jeremy Allen White) has decided to go for a buzzcut to beat the heat. Oh, sure, it's just a haircut to some people, but do you not remember how fluffy and beautiful it was last season? It was a work of art and now it's all gone. Just give us a moment to deal.

Shameless Stars Get Sappy for Season 9 Premiere Date Announcement

Okay, in other Lip news it seems that he's having a bit more trouble being a foster dad to a pre-teen than previously expected. The new trailer reveals he's already lost track of his 10-year old ward after his ex-friend-with-benefits left her at the bike shop in the Season 8 finale. We're here for Lip being a dad, though, even with short hair.

Shameless Season 9 premieres Sunday, Sept. 9 at 9/8c on Showtime.
