Roseanne hasn't been afraid to get topical in its first revival season, but there is one hot-button issue the Connors won't touch in Season 1 — the Times Up movement. The feminist call to action started by Hollywood's leading women in early 2018 will get its due when the show returns for Season 11, though.
"It just felt like, 'Let's wait until next season where we can get a good story around it' because it was towards the end of production, and we weren't going to elbow it into something," executive producer Whitney Cummings told TV Guide. "That was going to feel opportunistic."
One can only imagine how that discussion will go down with Roseanne (Roseanne Barr) being an open Trump supporter with Jackie (Laurie Metcalf) and Darlene (Sara Gilbert) being staunch Democrats and whether those political leanings will color their stances on sexual assault and harassment.
Roseanne airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on ABC.
