She knew getting kicked in the head was a very real threat.
During an Oct. 7 appearance on The Tonight Show, MMA superstar Ronda Rousey discussed how she thought her then-impending bout with Holly Holm would go. Rousey admitted that Holm, with her undefeated record and knack for head-kick knockouts, would be formidable opponent, but that she would still come out on top.
"I feel like she's going to try to keep distance and keep far away from me and get me frustrated to the point where I make a mistake and she can try and kick me in the head," she theorized. "But it's not going to go like that."
Ronda Rousey to star in Road House remake
The thing is, though, that's exactly how it went. Holm knocked Rousey out with a brutal kick to the head during the second round of Saturday's UFC Women's Bantamweight championship fight, ending Rousey's undefeated streak.
Pretty amazing that Rousey knew exactly how her downfall was going to happen and was still powerless to stop it. Watch both the Tonight Show clip and Rousey getting KTFO below.
