Parenthood's Erika Christensen on Joel and Julia's Reunion: "Chris Never Had a Chance"

But will their reconciliation last?

#TeamJoel emerged victorious on Thursday's episode of Parenthood, with Joel (Sam Jaeger) and Julia (Erika Christensen) finally making their reconciliation official.

Among the people rooting for the couple to get back together was Christensen herself.

"It was so satisfying," the actress told TVGuide.com this week. "Clearly the vast majority of the audience was just Team Joel all the way ... and I happen to be in that camp as well. I was so shocked when I found out [Julia] was starting the season with a boyfriend. I was like, 'Whoa, what is happening?! Oh my God.'"

However, Christensen notes, she views Julia's co-worker/rebound guy Chris (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) as a sympathetic figure - even more so than her own character.

"Chris never had a chance," she admits. "I think he really is a good guy. ... He was so respectful of Julia and letting her kind of slowly work her way into something. ... But by the same token, the fact that he really just set his foot down, I think he was justified in that too. She was being so disrespectful. Anybody that's ever dated someone where they're not allowed to tell people about it, it's kind of gross and it's not cool. All of the sudden you're like, oh, this is not fun."

It remains to be seen which of the other Bravermans will get a happy ending when the show airs its series finale on Jan. 29. But Christensen implies that Joel-and-Julia fans can rest assured their story line will be discord-free in the final two episodes.

"They have a real conversation about, we have some issues we have to work out, and we're going to have to be real about it," Christensen says. "And then ... yay!"

Parenthood airs Thursdays at 10/9c on NBC. Are you happy Joel and Julia are back together?
