Eleven lives!
Netflix has renewed its breakout summer hit Stranger Things for a second season, The Hollywood Reporter first reported.
The '80s-set sci-fi series will return for nine episodes in 2017, one more episode than Season 1. Netflix shared a video with the titles of the Season 2 episodes, including "Madmax," "The Boy Who Came Back to Life," and "The Lost Brother." The video also confirmed that Season 2 will be set in Fall 1984. Watch the full video below.
Creators the Duffer Brothers will continue to executive-produce. No official word yet on who from the cast will return, though Shannon Purser, who played Barb on Season 1, is probably out, as she was just cast in the CW drama Riverdale.
The Duffer Brothers shared some details about Season 2 with EW, saying that the core cast will return with the addition of four new characters. The mystery of Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) will remain unresolved at the beginning of the season, according to Ross Duffer, who says they leave what happened to the psychic child when she went back into the Upside Down "up in the air."
