NBC has a new detective and she sees dead people. She can talk to them too!

Okay, she's actually more a consultant than a detective but she's solving crimes, so it counts. The network announced that one of next season's new dramas will be The InBetween, starring Harriet Dyer as Carrie Bishop, a woman who talks to the dead and is recruited by her friend Det. Tom Hackett and his new partner, former FBI Agent Damien Asante, to help solve cases.

Like Haley Joel Osment's character in the iconic M. Night Shyamalan thriller The Sixth Sense, Cassie is not stoked about her abilities to talk to the dead. We have to guess that some of the victims she'll come in contact with didn't have pleasant ends and that has to make for pretty gnarly afterlife demeanor, you know? Helping out Detective Tom and his partner Damien is really going to help Cassie face her demons, though, literally.

Earlier this week ABC picked up the dramedy A Million Little Thingswhich TV Guide said could be the first ghost alert of the 2018-19 TV season, but we're proud to report that The InBetween is bringing it in for the official paranormal watch.

NBC will release its full fall schedule next week.
