Even if you know nothing else about the original Magnum, P.I., you still probably know there was a major mustache involved. (If you don't know, well, Tom Selleck's mustache is iconic. Google it.) That's why when it was revealed the upcoming Jay Hernandez-led reboot of the popular series opted to forgo the signature facial hair in favor of a less imposing goatee, we took notice. (Actually, that wasn't all we noticed -- they've changed quite a bit.)
The good news is, Hernandez and showrunner Peter Lenkov have said the CBS series, which premieres Monday, will pay homage to the 'stashe in the show's second episode. But we figured, why wait for Episode 2? Let's go ahead and see what Hernandez's Magnum would look like with a mustache NOW. And then we took it one step further, because do you know what's better than adding mustaches to one dude? Adding mustaches to everyone.
So yeah, we fixed Magnum P.I. for you. You're welcome.
Magnum P.I. premieres Monday, Sept. 24 at 9/8c on CBS.
(Full disclosure: TV Guide is owned by CBS.)
