Kardashian speaks out on their relationship

Though Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom called off their divorce, the reality star says she isn't getting back together with her ex-husband.

"There are too many other important things, too many medical things. It's not even in our brains thinking about us as a couple or having a relationship right now," Kardashian told People.

On Oct. 13, Odom was hospitalized after he was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel. He tested positive for cocaine and reportedly had been on several other drugs during his three-day stay at the brothel, where he allegedly spent $75,000.

"All I knew was I had to get there," Kardashian said of her decision to rush to Odom's bedside. "I had to get to him and make sure he was okay. I hate that he was in that situation. I wouldn't want anybody in that situation, especially someone I love and care about."

Lamar Odom "definitely" needs a kidney transplant after coma

Kardashian filed for divorce from Odom in December 2013, but their split was never finalized. And because the couple was still legally married, Kardashian was responsible for making Odom's medical decisions during his hospital stay. Kardashian also put her relationship with James Harden on hold to help Odom through his recovery.

"I loved him always, and I will always love him," Kardashian said. "I don't believe love is fickle. I believe when you love someone, you are allowed to love from afar. You don't have to be with that person in order to love him."

According to reports, Odom is in need of a kidney transplant and is currently on dialysis. And though he can still only "say a few words," Kardashian remains optimistic about Odom's recovery and plans to stay by his side through the trying ordeal.

"There is a very long road ahead of [Lamar]," she says. "He has to walk that road by himself, and, most importantly, he has to want to walk that road. I will be there supporting him every step of the way."
