The most important competition in the world's most popular sport will begin without one of pop music's biggest stars.

Jennifer Lopez will no longer perform during the World Cup's opening ceremonies, where she was scheduled to sing the tournament's official song, "We Are One." The American Idol judge is going through some rough times at the moment. On Friday, reports surfaced that Lopez had split with her boyfriend of two years, Casper Smart.

Lopez had been booked to perform the song with American rapper Pitbull and Brazillian singer Claudia Leitte. The show must go on, though, and Pitbull and Leitte will proceed without Lopez.
