Newly crowned Dancing with the Stars champ Jennifer Grey will soon undergo surgery for a disc she ruptured in her back during competition.
"I'm probably going to have surgery this week or sometime next week," the 50-year-old actress told Access Hollywood.
Dancing with the Stars: Jennifer Grey "really surprised" she won
Grey downplayed the seriousness of the operation. "It's just going to be like a little surgery where they take out the ruptured disc thing," she said. "Compared to the other surgeries I had on my neck, my doctor says it won't be a big deal."
The Dirty Dancing star had extensive surgery on her neck after she was in a car crash with then-boyfriend (and Ferris Bueller co-star) Matthew Broderick in 1987. She suffered severe whiplash from the accident and now has a steel plate in her neck.

More than week after nabbing the Mirrorball trophy with professional partner Derek Hough, Grey now says the ruptured disc, and the subsequent pain, was all worth it.
"The experience of doing Dancing with the Stars — already, like I don't even remember the pain I was in a week ago," she said of the injury. "I just have some discomfort in back that needs to be taken care of."
