If they weren't already, the good times are really over now.

Following the news earlier this month that Jon Stewart is stepping down as the host of The Daily Show, longtime correspondent Jason Jones announced his own upcoming departure from the Comedy Central staple on Tuesday.

"For 9 1/2 years, I have worked at one of the greatest TV shows of all time. But ... it is time for me to go," he wrote on Twitter.

But the news that he's leaving isn't all bad. Jones explained in another tweet that his departure stems from the announcement that he's going to "make another great show" on TBS.

The network has ordered to series an untitled family comedy from Jones and his wife, fellow Daily Show correspondent Samantha Bee. Written and executive produced by the couple, Jones will star in the new series as a father who packs his wife (Justified's Natalie Zea) and kids (Louie's Ashley Gerasimovich and The Neighbors' Liam Carroll) into the family car and departs on what he assures them will be the adventure of a lifetime. Unsurprisingly, things don't quite turn out as expected.

Jones' impending departure from The Daily Show is disappointing, but according to The Wrap, Bee will remain with the Comedy Central program and pull double duty.

The best and worst of the Oscars

This is the first project ordered under new boss Kevin Reilly, and is said to be darkly comedic and inspired by Jones and Bee's own experience on family vacations.

Each subsequent season will chronicle a different family adventure. Production on the 10-episode first season will begin this summer.

Will you watch Jones' new show? Are you bummed he's leaving The Daily Show?
