The stars of The CW's hit telenovela series have now completed filming on their final episode of the series -- which just so happens to be its 100th -- and they have been sharing some behind-the-scenes glimpses at their last day on set. The images and sweet tributes they've been sharing are bound to make fans feel nostalgic for the show long before it leaves the airwaves.
For starters, star Gina Rodriguez, who plays the titular heroine, popped a little champagne to celebrate Jane the Virgin's remarkable on-screen journey, but not before she tugged at some heartstrings with a snuggly picture of herself and little Elias Janssen, who plays Mateo in the show. "Sending so much love to all the Jane Warriors who made our show thrive for all these years! We love you," she wrote as a tribute to Jane's faithful viewers.
Thanks to Andrea Navedo, who plays Jane's mom Xo, we also have this candid video of Rodriguez getting loosey-goosey with that personalized libation.
Meanwhile, Justin Baldoni, who plays Rafael, posted an emotional picture of himself sharing an embrace with Yael Grobglas, who plays Petra. The sweet pic was captioned: "what an honor it's been to play your TV baby-daddy-ex husband for these five years. I absolutely adore you. Your talent never ceases to amaze me and I can't wait to see all the incredible things you do next. You are an untapped resource of comedy brilliance- there is nothing you can't do. I love you friend." Gulp!
Grobglas returned the sentiment in her own post featuring the same image, which she captioned with, "This is hard. I love you so much @justinbaldoni. Couldn't wish for a kinder person by my side for 5 years. You're wonderful in every way." She also shared a picture of herself enjoying the sunshine on her final day of shooting and wrote that she was "taking it all in" while wearing "sunglasses to hide the tears."
Baldoni also celebrated co-star Jaime Camil, who plays Rogelio, and wrote of him, "It's been a supreme joy and a pleasure working with and learning from this brilliant man for five years. [...] I adore you and these five years have been so much fun... even if i'm annoyed by the fact that you don't age and that you've always been #teammichael."
Meanwhile, Brett Dier wrote that while this wasn't the first time he's had to say goodbye to his role as Michael, this time is even more significant since "this is the final goodbye."
Even the show's big bad, Bridget Reagen, who plays Sin Rostro, stopped by the set to celebrate the end of filming... and to shower her co-stars in delicious snacks.
Jane the Virgin airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on The CW.
