For Michaela (Aja Naomi King) on How to Get Away with Murder, that would be Asher (Matt McGorry).

In our sneak peek of Thursday's episode, Michaela frantically phones her boo, after learning about the fire at Annalise's (Viola Davis) house at the end of last week's hour. Unfortunately, she only gets his voicemail (and the outgoing message is SO Asher).

So where is Doucheface? Did Connor (Jack Falahee) accidentally grab his phone and leave his own at Michaela's?

No time to think -- Michaela rushes out the door, but not before giving her mom Trishelle (Brett Butler) a piece of her mind.
Though Michaela's mom's arrival at the end of last week's episode was surprising, King says the slow burn of Michael's backstory reveal had been in the works since the show's start. "It was something that we've always talked about from the beginning - her being adopted and potentially her adoptive parents not being the same race as her, and what that looks like and what their blended family looks like," she tells TVGuide.com. "That's been, not on the backburner, but something we knew plot-wise we'd be able to delve into at some point. It's nice because I feel like we've been able to save it and give little drops of it and we could slowly start to learn more and more about these people and how we all came to this one spot."

How to Get Away with Murder airs Thursdays at 10/9c on ABC.
