But at least we know when the show premieres
Callie (Maia Mitchell) and Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) were so eager to grow up on The Fosters, but the first footage from the new spin-off Good Trouble shows that adulthood isn't as sweet as they were hoping.
In the first teaser trailer for the show, which will debut on Freeform in January, producers explain how they're setting up Callie and Mariana for a fun-filled life in Los Angeles, but that the young women will quickly find out that adulting is very hard. We also get another peek at Gael (Tommy Martinez), the socially conscious graphic designer who lives in The Coterie with the girls. Otherwise, the quick glimpses of the show have Callie and Mariana looking pretty displaced. They are putting on brave faces though, saying they've got this over the phone (probably to the moms) through their tears.
Good Trouble: Who Are Callie and Mariana's New Neighbors?
"We've got to find out where they belong in the world," executive producer Joanna Johnson says in the clip. Naturally, that process is going to have some growing pains -- and this wouldn't be a Fosters spin-off without some next-level drama.
Don't worry girls, we believe in you.
Good Trouble premieres this January on Freeform.
