CBS has accepted God's request for another season.

God Friended Me, CBS' hit family drama, has been renewed for Season 2, the network announced Tuesday.

The series is CBS' second-highest-rated new show of the 2018-19 season after crime procedural FBI, which was renewed last week. It has performed well in its Sunday 8/7c timeslot, averaging 10 million viewers a week, according to the network.

God Friended Me follows an atheist podcaster named Miles (Brandon Micheal Hall) who starts getting mysterious social media friend suggestions from an account called "God." The suggestions are all people in need of some sort of help, which Miles and his friends Cara (Violett Beane) and Rakesh (Suraj Sharma) do their best to provide while also trying to figure out who's behind the account.

The series joins FBI, The Neighborhood and Magnum P.I. among CBS' renewed freshman shows.

(Disclosure: TV Guide is owned by CBS Interactive, a division of CBS Corporation.)
