The Mountain Returns to Jousting in Bud Light's Game of Thrones-Themed Super Bowl Ad

Even those fans who were expecting some Game of Thrones goodness to come during Super Bowl LIII's commercials slate were probably pretty surprised to see Ser Gregor Clegane aka The Mountain pop up during a Bud Light commercial, of all things, but that's what happened.

In retrospect, it probably should've been obvious. The castle looks a lot like Winterfell, and the set up of the King and Queen is completely reminiscent of one of the show's earliest dramatic showpieces. Nevertheless, the pseudo-zombie's defeat of the poor Bud Knight sure is brutal. But as this ad reminds us, the Mountain has nothing on Daenerys Targaryen's dragons -- Drogon's here laying some hellfire without even having to hear his mother's call for "dracarys."

What does it tell us about Season 8? Almost nothing. Except maybe that these two will be featured prominently in the show's final season, and maybe it'll harken back to some of their deadliest moments, like with Drogon laying waste to everyone in sight a la the Battle of the Goldroad.
