Game of Thrones may be all about fire and blood, but a new commercial builds Westeros with layers of cookies and cream.
To promote its new Game of Thrones-themed cookies, Oreo has released a video re-creating the show's iconic intro sequence... with Oreos.
A collaboration between Oreo, HBO, and Elastic (the studio that also created the show's intro sequence), the video made use of some 2,750 cookies for its chocolatey take on King's Landing, Dragonstone, Winterfell, and the Wall, complete with a cookie winch elevator.
With the ad and the new themed cookies — the Night King design is our personal fave — Oreo joins the ranks of brands looking to capitalize on the Game cultural phenomenon that is Game of Thrones, along with the likes of Adidas, Bud Light, Urban Decay, and more.
The new GoT Oreos are coming on April 8, Game of Thrones Season 8 is coming on Sunday, April 14, and winter is finally here.
