The Complete Pilot Report: Fox Has Batman Prequel Gotham, Tina Fey Comedy

The fall TV season is taking shape. Networks have ordered dozens of new pilots starring familiar faces like Friends' David Schwimmer, and from proven producers like How I Met Your Mother bosses Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, 30 Rock's Tina Fey and Arrow's Greg Berlanti. DRAMA

Empire
This unique family drama set amidst a hip-hop empire will feature both original and current music. The Butler's Lee Daniels and Game Change's Danny Strong will write and executive-produce with Brian Grazer (24) and Francie Calfo (How to Live with Your Parents). Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson, Gabourey Sidibe, Jussie Smollett, Bryshere Y. Gray, Malik Yoba, Kaitlin Doubleday, Trai Byers, Tasha Smith, Macy Gray, Grace Gealey will star.

Gotham
Based on DC Comics characters, this drama explores the origin stories of eventual Batman ally James Gordon (Benjamin McKenzie), a detective with the Gotham City Police Department, and his battle with the villains who made the city famous. David Mazouz (Touch) will play young billionaire Bruce Wayne. Mentalistcreator Bruno Heller will write and executive-produce with Nikita's Danny CannonJada Pinkett Smith, Donal Logue, Sean Pertwee, Robin Lord Taylor, Cory Michael Smith, Erin Richards, Camren Bicondova, Drew Powell and Zabryna Guevara will also star.

Home
A thriller from Jerry Bruckheimer, Home delves into the secrets lingering behind the facade of a suburban family. Bruckheimer will executive-produce with Jonathan Littman and Heroes'Aron Eli Coleite, who will also write.

The Middle Man
In 1960s Boston, FBI agent Rudy MacAteer is tasked with taking down the Italian Mafia with the help of a confidential informant, Irish-American mobster Mickey Flood. MacAteer's efforts inadvertently give rise to the Irish Mob, as he finds himself bending the rules by which he is governed. Ben Affleck will executive produce with writer Medium's Glenn Gordon Caron.

Red Band Society
A group of teenagers meet as patients in the children's wing of a hospital and become unlikely friends and allies in this comedic young soap. Steven Spielberg will executive-produce with Margaret Nagle (Boardwalk Empire) and Under the Dome's Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank. Dave Annable, Octavia Spencer, Griffin Gluck, Charlie Rowe, Brian Bradley, Rebecca Rittenhouse, Ciara Bravo, Nolan Sotillo and Zoe Levin will star.

COMEDY

Cabot College
An all-female university in rural New Hampshire opens its door to four men for the first time. 30 Rock producers Tina Fey and Robert Carlock will executive-produce with writer Matt Hubbard. Margaret Cho, Fortune Feimster, Bonnie Dennison, Ely Henry, Asif Ali, Jack Cutmore-Scott and Brandon Jones will star.

Dead Boss
Based on the U.K. series of the same name, this comedic mystery stars overachiever Helen Stephens (30 Rock's Jane Krakowski), who has been wrongfully convicted of murdering her boss and forced to rely on her train wreck of a sister to prove her innocence. Patricia Breen (Suburgatory) will write and executive-produce with Aaron Kaplan (Terra Nova). Cedric Yarbrough, Amy Sedaris, Rachel Dratch, Justine Lupe, David Cross and Ravi Patel will also star.

Fatrick
When he realizes his life isn't quite where it should be, Patrick (Zach Cregger), a 30-something moving man and former fat kid, is forced to face the damage caused by years of being Fatrick: a chubby little kid just trying to survive. Apartment 23 creator Nahnatchka Kahn will write and executive-produce the pilot, directed by Descendants screenwriters Nat Faxon and Jim Rash. Ray Ford, Marcia Cross, Trevor Larcom, Dante Hoagland, Audrey Scott, Bayne Gibby, Lucy Rust and Marc Evan Jackson will also star.

No Place Like Home (formerly known as Here's Your Damn Family)
A mom (Malcolm in the Middle's Jane Kaczmarek) who has been single for two decades traumatizes her stunted thirtysomething son with a little surprise — she just got married and her new husband Mike (David James Elliott) and his three teenage children are about to move in. Big Bang Theory's Johnny Galecki will executive-produce the comedy from Romantically Challenged's Ricky Blitt. Jon Heder, Natasha Bassett, Peter DaCunha and Brendan Meyer will co-star.

Sober Companion
A charming, but self-destructive attorney named Robert (Nick Frost) finds his world turned upside-down when a court-appointed, highly unconventional sober companion (Justin Long) takes control of his life. David S. Rosenthal (Gilmore Girls) and Jennie Snyder Urman (90210) will write and executive-produce. Dorian Brown, Mouzam Makkar, Pete Davidson and Ally Maki will co-star.
