Following the jaw-dropping news that Netflix would not only be putting the kibosh on Marvel's Iron Fist, but it would also be saying goodbye to the much more beloved seriesLuke Cage, many fans were left to wonder what exactly was behind all the draconian measures.

While some (read: us) speculated that it might be part of a house-cleaning effort in the vein of Avengers: Infinity War, others suspected that the reason these two heroes' individual shows were shuttered is that Marvel and Netflix aim to bring them together for an entirely different kind of series: Heroes for Hire.

The comic series featured the two heroes teaming up to run a private investigation operation, so the timing of back-to-back cancellations had some fans convinced the two would return to the Netflix-MCU circuit together for twice the fun.

On the surface, the post may seem like a simple sign of solidarity for his The Defenders co-star Mike Colter, but others immediately perceived Finn's post as a hint that a Heroes for Hire show might actually happen next.

Marvel's Luke Cage and Marvel's Iron Fist are both streaming on Netflix.
