Here's When Disney+ Will Launch and How Much It Will Cost

By now you've heard the news about the exciting new Marvel shows, the anticipated live-action Star Warsseries, and everything else that is coming to Disney's new streaming service, known as Disney Plus (Disney+). But what you didn't know was when the service itself would launch. Or how much it would cost subscribers. Well, now we know.

Disney announced Thursday that the subscription streaming service, which will allow consumers to download its content so it can be accessed offline, will launch Nov. 12, 2019. It will cost subscribers $6.99 per month. There is also an annual purchase option for $69.99. That is a steal when you consider everything you're getting.

When the service launches, it will give subscribers access to titles from the Disney vault, a number of the company's live-action films, as well as Disney Channel series, the entire Pixar library, all the films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and all things Star Wars. And in the wake of the Disney and Fox merger, the service will also be the exclusive SVOD home for all 30 seasons of The Simpsons.

As the number of streaming services continues to grow, the situation can be overwhelming for the average TV and movie fan to navigate. But Disney really seems to know what it is doing with Disney+. With access to the company's sizable archive and the fact the service will be the exclusive home of a ton of new original programming (and only continue to grow each year), Disney+ promises to create quite a tidal wave in an already bustling streaming market.
