If all goes well, we should be watching Season 3 next March

Charlie Cox, Daredevil: Born Again
Jojo Whilden/MarvelDaredevil: Born Again Season 2 ended in epic fashion, with Daredevil (Charlie Cox) and Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) leading an army of protesters against Mayor Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio) and his secret police in an awesomely violent climactic showdown. And now we're stuck in the interregnum, waiting not-so-patiently to find out what's gonna happen next after Season 2 left us with a major cliffhanger.
Fortunately, Daredevil: Born Again doesn't seem to be the sort of show that takes two or three years to produce a new season. Let's see what we know so far about what's coming next.
Oh yeah. The Daredevil series was renewed in September 2025, six months before Season 2 premiered. Marvel does this because it makes it much easier to keep the show coming out on a yearly basis, since an early renewal means production can start sooner.
There's no official date or release window yet, but it's pretty likely that Season 3 will premiere in spring 2027, a year after Season 2 aired. Producer Brad Winderbaum said when the series was renewed for Season 3 that they planned to keep seasons coming at a yearly cadence, with each new season dropping in March. Plus, Season 3 has already begun shooting, so the timing should work out as long as everything goes as planned. Remember, though, this is a series that was completely reworked after shooting six episodes of Season 1.

Vincent D'Onofrio, Daredevil: Born Again
Jojo Whilden/MarvelYou should expect any significant Season 2 cast members whose characters made it out alive to return for Season 3. Dario Scardapane is once again serving as showrunner.
Luke Cage (Mike Colter) finally returned in the Season 2 finale, making his first MCU appearance since Season 2 of Luke Cage in 2018. Yes, that means he'll be back for real in Season 3. And despite the fact that we got to the end of Season 2 without an appearance by Danny Rand/Iron Fist (Finn Jones), we've got every reason to expect that he'll also pop up in Season 3, since he's been spotted on set.
There's no word about other folks from those shows, like Misty Knight (Simone Missick) and Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick), but at this point it wouldn't be unreasonable to get your hopes up.
Season 2 brought Mayor Kingpin's reign of terror to an end, with Fisk murdering a bunch of protesters after his corruption came to light, and then he apparently fled the country. But all is not well. Part of Matt's gambit to defeat Kingpin involved outing himself as Daredevil — which immediately exposed him to all sorts of criminal charges. So as we head into Season 3, Matt is sitting in jail. It's the same jail, in fact, that the members of Kingpin's corrupt anti-vigilante task force are being held in, so you can probably expect them to butt heads.
While this sounds a lot like the plot of The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4, when Mickey Haller was on trial for a murder he was framed for, it's actually a pretty different scenario, since Matt will certainly not be allowed bail, and he actually probably did do what he was accused of. Matt's goal won't necessarily be to prove his innocence, but to prove that the stuff he did as Daredevil were good things that the city needed.
On top of the main thread, we've got all sorts of other dangling plot threads left over after Season 2. After the loss of the illegal arms Kingpin had been holding in the Red Hook freeport, CIA agent Mr. Charles recruits Bullseye for some unknown mission — replacing Luke Cage, who had apparently been working for Charles. Dr. Glenn and Buck Cashman, a pair of strays now that Kingpin's been exiled, are poised to graduate to main villain status, with Glenn aspiring to become a serial killer. BB Urich just parlayed her news influencer career into a job at a newspaper, which is a pretty goofy career trajectory, and she's got a bone to pick with Buck after he killed her BFF Daniel Blake in Season 2. And, of course, there's no way we've seen the last of the Kingpin. Wilson Fisk always returns.
There's been no indication that Frank Castle/The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) will be back in Season 3. He has not been announced to return, nor has he been sighted among the other cast members on set. So don't get your hopes up, but the streaming movie Punisher: Last Kill, out May 12, will show what Frank got up to while Matt and Karen fought to liberate New York without him. And we may get a better idea of whether we can expect Frank back after we see what happens with him in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is out July 31.
Daredevil: Born Again is a Disney+ exclusive and requires a subscription.
