DuringMonday Night Raw, Daniel Bryan announced his retirement from the WWE due to injuries. Bryan, who wasn't always praised for his mic skills, delivered an eloquent and heart-wrenching speech as he said farewell to his professional wrestling career of 16 years.

"I've been wrestling since I was 18 years old. And within the first five months of my wrestling career, I'd already had three concussions," a tearful Bryan addressed the crowd in his Seattle hometown. "For years after that, I would get a concussion here and there, or here or there. And it gets to the point when you've been wrestling for 16 years that that adds up to a lot of concussions. And it gets to a point where they tell you that you can't wrestle anymore. For a long time, I fought that because I have loved this in a way I have never loved anything else."

Why we'll never stop rooting for Daniel Bryan

However, after Bryan's most recent test, there was no more fighting it, and the Yes! Man gracefully accepted his fate. "I've been angry. I've been sad. I've been frustrated. I've been all of that. But today, when I woke up this morning, I felt nothing but gratitude," Bryan said. "Because of wrestling, I got to meet the most wonderful woman in the world, who's beautiful, she's smart and she completes me in a way that I didn't even think was possible," he said, referencing his wife Brie Bella.

Before Bryan left the ring, he asked the crown to join him in one last "Yes!" chant. Watch the emotional moment below.
