It was a stunning shock for Chicago Med fans to learn that Connor (Colin Donnell) and Ava (Norma Kuhling) would be leaving at the end of Season 4, but the season finale didn't actually explain how the characters would exit the NBC show. In fact, the season ended with a big cliffhanger that seemed like it would go unresolved -- but now we know that isn't the case.

According to UsWeekly, Donnell will return for one episode to film a proper exit for Connor in the upcoming season. The season finale left off with Connor finding out his father died of an insulin overdose and suspecting that Ava was the one responsible. That made for a really fun moment when she showed up, expecting them to get back together. While the season finale confirmed there would be no happy ending for the couple, it ended with them both employed at the hospital and a lot of questions about why and how they'd be leaving the show.
