The production start date for the CW series The Beautiful Life: TBL has been pushed back a week, but the network insists the delay has nothing to do with star Mischa Barton's recent hospitalization.

Fall TV grid: See what's on and when

Rather, a CW spokeswoman maintains that the sets for the new prime-time drama will not be ready by July 22, and that an additional week was needed to get the show camera-ready.

Barton required medical care on the evening of July 8, after Los Angeles police responded to a non-911 call to her house. Barton's publicist confirmed that the actress had been hospitalized after treatment, "per the recommendation of her doctor," but he would not comment on Access Hollywood's report that she had been placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold.

Barton's publicist did not immediately respond to a Monday-morning request for an update on  the actress' hospitalization.

Despite the production delay, The Beautiful Life — which revolves around a group of cohabitating models, super- and otherwise — is still set to premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 16.
