Singers Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger Are Separating

The summer of splits unfortunately keeps on giving. Avril Lavigne and her husband Chad Kroeger are parting ways.
Lavigne announced the news on Instagram, writing that despite ending their marriage they remain "the best of friends." The two have been married since July 2013 and first met when Kroeger was working on an album of Lavigne's.

Rumors of trouble between Lavigne and Kroeger have been swirling since a year after they tied the knot, when they began spending noticeable stretches of time apart, and without their wedding bands, despite having set rules for their marriage.
The news of their split comes as both are recovering. Lavigne revealed to People in April that she had been suffering from Lyme disease, and Kroeger, who is the lead singer for Nickelback, is recovering from having a cyst removed from his voice box.
